Winter is Coming
…to the Nightclub – Feat. Matt Otto (Release 20.01.2020)

The Remix of “Winter is Coming” (released 2018 as third track on the first EP Diversity – Part I - “Creatures”) is a unique intercontinental cooperation with Jazz pro Matt Otto (“Assistant Director of Jazz Studies” - University of Kansas School of Music) and Distance to Here. This Progressive-Metal-Jazz fusion elevates the song to a new level by combining the original song structure with beautiful laid back saxophone melodies and Matt’s unique “shredder” solo technique – giving the song a totally new perspective. The song was mixed and mastered for the first time on (virtual) analogue recording equipment (like a famous mixing desk, vintage compressors, 16-track tape machine and 2-track mastering tape machine) for a warmer, more organic sound with full dynamics.

My personal Thank You to my friend Otto from the USA for this cooperation, especially on this critical song that reflects (in the lyrics of the original version) the changes in USA government and its impact for Germany, Europe and the rest of the world – “Still friends, no matter the madness!” - Felix

Distance to Here Frankfurt, Germany

Under the name of "Distance to Here", one of the region's more unusual recent band projects was formed in 2017. This quartet is mainly interested in working out the individual character of every new song idea in all its detail, picking the best ideas from the last twenty years of music history on the way, regardless of whatever obscure corner of rock music this process may take them. ... more
